7 MORE Tips For Bloggers

6k03F1523236622

In the past, I’ve taken the time to write some blog posts all about my blogging experience and what I’ve learned (You can check them out at the bottom of this page). About 5 months ago, I wrote a blog post about blogging tips for starters and to be honest, I thought I knew a lot about what I was doing. I thought I knew a lot of the basic stuff about blogging when I wrote that post, but that was definitely not true.

You can learn a lot in half a year and I’ve certainly done that with blogging. These last couple of months, I have experimented with different techniques, tried to boost my follower amount and read a lot of posts on blogging. I have a bunch new tips and ideas for blogging. I don’t think I’ll ever learn everything there is to blogging 😛

But I wanted to write this post and share with you guys some newer tips about blogging that I’ve been using and that have been helpful for me. I feel that I have a different perspective on blogging now that I’ve consistently been doing it for about 10 months. I hope these can help you!

  • Use Pinterest– I can not recommend Pinterest to you enough!! It helps so much with gaining blog traffic since it’s like a search engine. About a month ago, I made my account into a business account and spent more time organizing it. I made my account more people friendly and was more active. *Another tip, don’t use your personal account with personal boards. Make it professional and include boards that your readers are looking for. I could not believe my results and they are still increasing. Right now, Pinterest is the #1 way I get blog traffic. After about 22 days, I have had over 4,400 views and about 100 interactions which is impressive by my standards. If you are starting a blog or looking to increase your traffic, definitely get a Pinterest account for your blog and invest some time into making it appealing. You can check out my Pinterest here.
  • Use appealing pictures– Most people are very visual and love to see pictures. Try to include a main picture in your post at the very least. If you can take your own pictures, great, because better creates a brand for your blog, but if you can’t you can safely use free stock photos. I get my free stock photos from either Pixabay.comor Pexels.com. If you’re planning on uploading your pictures to Pinterest and attaching a link to your post, I suggest using vertical photos because it works better with Pinterest. I’ve also heard that red is the best color to use (but idk if that’s true). Usually on top of pictures, people use words and shapes. For that personally I use PicFont.comwhich has been really helpful. I would definitely recommend it. But over anything, make sure it’s consistent and that you’re creating your own brand for your blog.
  • Post regularly– Something my blog is really known for is for posting regularly, every Monday and Thursday to be exact (and I haven’t missed a single day). Being reliable and consistent is important, although don’t freak out or post bad content if you’re unable to do a post. Plan out a day a week that you will post. Or biweekly if that fits your schedule. Whatever works for you. I’ve found that readers really enjoy that consistency and seeing your posts regularly.
  • Get involved with your readers– Something that will definitely increase your views is creating genuine relationships with your readers. Be open to any questions or emails your readers may have. If your readers are bloggers, maybe check out their posts and comment and like them to show support. For me, I talk to some of my readers on a regular basis and we check up on each other a lot to ask how our blogs are going. But overall, creating a strong connection with your readers makes your blog more than just a blog because you’re impacting people and creating community.
  • Give away free things– Who doesn’t like free things? I’m pretty sure every one does. I’ve found that people will do a lot of things just to get something free, even follow or sign up for a newsletter. To do this, you could make some free content, lie anything from a devotional or wallpapers or calendars, whatever fits your blog and give it away to readers for following you. Or you could have a Free resource Library (like I do) and upload resources there (you can check mine out here). It is definitely worth the extra time to make more content for your readers so they can get free stuff.
  • Make internet friends– Having other blogging friends is so much fun. I’ve made a lot and it has made my blogging journey so much more fun. You could post something on your blog or on a social media account seeing if any bloggers would like to become your friend. But having blogging friends is more than just what you receive. It’s about checking up on the other person, genuinely caring about them and having interest in their lives. I think it is so cool! I hope I can make even more internet friends!
  • Guest post for other blogs– I never noticed how valuable gust posting was until I tried it. Although sometimes challenging and time consuming, guest posting is when you guest write for other blogs. I’ve done it for the Rebelution.com (you can check it out here) and I’ve submitted my work for other places and am waiting to hear back. Guest posting allows other people to see you’re writing. They may even click on your blog and follow it. This is one way you can bring more followers to your blog and/or reach a different group of people. Try to find places that have the same values as you and reach out to the same audience you do.

Are you a blogger? Did you find any of these tips helpful? If so, I would love to read  them in the comments below.

Spoiler alert— You will probably be seeing another one of these posts within the next couple of months with more new things I have learned 😉

I hope you have a blessed day!

Love, Ainsley ❤
